New friends... new rivals...

After I awoke from my nap, I grabbed the Pokéball from my TV stand next to my Wii, and I headed downstairs. Even though Sandgem Town is not too far away, my mom asked me to take my Running Shoes along, so that I could get to the professor’s lab quicker. I tossed the Pokéball in my rucksack, and head off to Sandgem Town to see the professor.

On the way there, I had to cut through some tall grass, and a different wild Pokémon attacked me again! This time it was a Bidoof, I had no choice but to use the Piplup again to defend myself. He took some damage during the fight, but it wasn’t very much.

I also ran into a person who said she worked at the Pokémart, and she gave me a free potion for recovering a Pokémon’s health points (HP). What luck! I decided to save it until I got to Sandgem Town, so that I could use it on Piplup before I finally returned him to Professor Rowan.

When I arrived in Sandgem Town, I came across that mysterious girl again, the one from Lake Verity. I guess this is the town she where she lives. I followed her to the professor’s lab with the intent of apologizing for the incident earlier, but when I spoke to Professor Rowan, He still didn’t seem upset at all. He examined the Pokémon and then he returned it to me. He said that because the Pokémon had already begun to bond with me, it would only be fair to let me keep him. There was, however, one catch. He asked if would help him collect data on Pokémon for him. Of course I accepted and he gave me a Pokédex to keep track of the many Pokémon that I would encounter so that he could study the information about them later.

The girl introduced herself as Dawn, and she said that she was working for Professor Rowan too! Dawn’s Pokémon was a Chimchar, and because we were now both Pokémon trainers, that also makes us rivals. Does this mean Mych’l and I are rivals too?

She should me around Sandgem Town, there was a Pokémon Center, and Pokémart, but I didn’t have any money yet, so there was nothing that I could afford. I also got the chance to meet her father, who also works for Professor Rowan in the Pokémon Lab. At her house, I met her grandfather and her little sister as well. They all live together in Sandgem Town not far from the lab.

I have to head back home tonight and tell mom all of the exciting news!
