Oh noes!

I went my friend Mych'l's house, and he seemed very excited about something. He almost knocked me over trying to rush out the door. He kept going on and on about heading to the lake. I could not get a word in edgewise, but he had forgotten something in room. He's a bit of a scatterbrain. I waited for him, but when he did not come back outside, I decided to see what he was up to.

By the time I got to his room, I guess he had already found what he was looking for because he was already bolting back downstairs, and out the front door. His mom suggested I check Route 201 as he was probably already on his way to the lake. I had to run just to catch up to him.

When I finally caught him, began talking about trying to find his own red Gyarados at the lake. Is he crazy?! He's not a Pokémon trainer, there's no way he could capture one.

When we arrived at the lake we ran into an old guy and he was with a younger girl. I overheard their conversation, but I didn't understand what it meant. When they noticed us, the old man introduced himself as Professor Rowan. Then they headed off down Route 201, but they had left a briefcase by the lakefront.

It was in the tall grass, so Mych'l dared me to get the briefcase. I refused at first, because I remembered my mother's warning about wild Pokémon, but we had to get the case and return it the old man. Eventually, we both decided to go in together.

As soon as we reached the case, a Starly leaped out and began to attack us. We jumped out of the way and he hit the briefcase instead, knocking it open, and three Pokéballs rolled out of it. I had no choice, I snatched up the one closest and a Piplup popped out. I ordered it to attack the wild Starly. The Piplup must have been a much higher level than the Starly, because it soon fainted in defeat. However, another showed up seemingly from nowhere. Mych'l grabbed one of the two remaining Pokéballs and revealed a Turtwig, which quickly ordered to attack the other wild Pokémon.

After both wild Pokémon had fled, the girl we saw earlier returned for the briefcase. She seemed very upset when she found out we had used the Pokéballs that were inside, but she took the briefcase anyway and left.

On our way back home, we ran into them again on Route 201. The professor had already heard about us opening the Pokéballs, but he didn't seem that angry. I thought that was odd. He just turned around and left. The girl he was with told us to come to their lab later, and she would try to explain things there.

When I got home, I told my mom about what had happened, and she suggested I go visit the professor's lab in Sandgem Town, the next town over. I think that's the best idea, I could apologize, and maybe explain what had happened. But, first, I think I'll take a nap.
