When I arrived in Oreburgh City, a man offered me HM06 to assist me in my Pokémon training. An HM is a Hidden Machine that will allow me to teach a hidden ability to one of my Pokémon. HM06 just happens to be for rock smash, equipping a Pokémon with it will allow that Pokémon to smash large boulders that may be blocking my path in the field. However, I can only use it after I get the Oreburgh City gym badge. Another bonus is HMs can be used repeatedly.
I ran into Mych’l again outside of the Oreburgh City gym, but the gym was closed. Mych’l said the Gym Leader Roark was out training in the mines. I can't believe, he already defeated the Gym Leader and earned the Coal Badge. I need to find him soon, so that I can challenge him to a battle to win my first badge.
